Feeding a condo full of people

A beach week with the whole family means somebody has to feed twenty people who just walked in off the sand. Fried chicken by the tray is the answer most groups land on. Country fried steak, chicken and dumplings and beef tips over rice are the Southern side of the order.

For a beach gathering, po'boys and shrimp fit the crowd. Seafood beyond that is by request, so ask when you call. Ask about adding catfish nuggets or fried green tomatoes from the appetizer menu as a starter.

Sides and dessert

Mac and cheese, mock shoe, collards, green beans and black eyed peas are the sides groups ask for. Cornbread goes with all of it, and one reviewer called ours the best they have had in a restaurant.

Desserts are made in-house. Peach cobbler comes with homemade whipped cream at the table, and peach cobbler and bread pudding come by the pan for a party.

Family reunions and big birthdays

We cater family reunions at the beach. Big Mama's on the Bayou has catered downtown Panama City for years, and the beach store can do the same. Tell us the date, the headcount and where you are staying, and whether you will pick it up or want it brought over. We will tell you what we can do and what it costs.

Or bring the party to us

If you would rather not clean a condo kitchen, the dining room has plenty of big tables. We are walk-in, so call ahead for a big group and we will do our best to have it ready. Parties of 6 or more carry an 18% gratuity. There is a full bar and kids plates are $10, and the big free lot means nobody has to carpool.
